St. Hyacinth Basilica (3636 W. Wolfram St. in Chicago)

Baby Angel Antonio was a full term baby boy who was left in a plastic bag in a gangway between two homes in Chicago on April 19, 2014. He is the newest son of Rest in His Arms. We will be showing the world that he is not forgotten and that his life has immeasurable worth with a Mass of Christian burial.

All are welcome to mourn the loss of this precious little life.

Rest In His Arms

Incorporated in the State of Illinois, Rest in His Arms is a 501 (c) (3) non-for-profit organization dedicated to providing Christian funerals and burials for abandoned babies. Formed in September 2005, the men and women of Rest in His Arms have provided the final act of dignity and respect for over 25 children in the Chicagoland area.

By spiritually adopting these infants, Rest in His Arms arranges final services that proclaim that these children are precious - even if they only lived for one minute. Allowed to provide each child with a name, none of "our" babies are forgotten about as a "John Doe." Each child is lovingly laid to rest and sent home to the open and comforting arms of our Creator.

Sadly, Rest in His Arms is a much needed organization as there are several babies illegally abandoned each year in the state of Illinois. But it does not have to be this way. The Illinois Safe Haven Law (www.saveabandonedbabies.org)allows a parent to leave infants 30 days or younger and unharmed, in the arms of staff at any hospital, 24 hour emergency care facility, police station, or manned fire station or college campus security office. Parents cannot be prosecuted for abandonment, and in fact, no questions will be asked. Babies left in Safe Havens receive medical care and then can be adopted into loving families and given a chance at life.

Until more people know about the alternatives to illegal abandonment, Rest in His Arms will continue to mourn for each life lost and ensure that these innocent little ones will not be forgotten.

To contribute funds to Rest in His Arms, offer to volunteer, or simply find out more information, please contact us via email at GraciesMom@comcast.net. Donations can also be sent directly to our account at BMO Harris Bank 10 Huntington Lane, Wheeling, IL 60090. All donations are tax deductible as Rest in His Arms is 501 (c) (3) certified.

PLEASE see "Our Babies" for information on each of "our" children

A memorial Mass will be offered to remember infants and children who have died due to miscarriage, stillbirth, infant death, childhood illness, abortion and other causes. This Mass of the Angels will be held at St. Edna's Parish, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois at 7:30 pm on Tuesday, September 29, 2009. All are welcome to attend as we pray for, grieve, and remember the little lives lost which have been so dear to us.
